Question to Cllrs over Budget £500,000 proposal to close Dimensions

What do you know of the £500,000 proposal for the Creation of a new swimming pool at Dimensions

INV – ANS11  Creation of a new swimming pool at Dimensions

Is it as The Sentinel reported Friday, December 23, 2011 proposed to again close Dimension and go into partnership with Mr Chaudry?

“Mr Chaudry said he could only support the new plans if it means the splash pool being replaced and asked the council to look again at partnerships with private swimming facilities.”

Councillors will you demand answers to the history of the Dimension deals over the years before you again AGREE to the WHOLE budget which will include the CLOSURE of Dimensions

Bus Re-routing Consultation

UPDATE the Traffic Regulation Orders for the below changes are now available to comment on send comments to  quoting reference: DF/NM/TRO20/2012, by the 31st day of March 2012.

The dates for a public exhibition on the proposals for Hanley have been revealed, it will be held in the East West Centre Offices in Charles Street (opposite the bus station) on

Tuesday 14 February from 10am to 2pm,

Wednesday 15 February from 12 noon to 4pm

Thursday 16 February from 3pm to 7pm

Officers will be there to answer any questions and explain the proposals in more detail.

The City Centre Bus Rerouting Project Team said “This will be the biggest change to the way the City Centre works in 30 years but we think we have got the balance between the need for new bus routes and bus stops, the public realm and pedestrian improvements, and the management of traffic and parking, about right.”

My Questions to the Council were

Does Marsh Street North need to be a bus lane, making it two-way to all traffic will remove the need for through traffic to negotiate Weaver Street and Lower Foundry Street which due to narrow nature could be a cause of conflict between drivers, this could be reviewed when the ring-road is completed.
